We were expecting Amsterdam to be a seedy place with nothing much to offer except the red light district (in which we have no interest). What we were actually greeted by was a city proud of itself. A city with great buildings, cosy streets and something for everyone. This city is beautiful when explored by water; the quaint coloured buildings perfectly framing the winding network of waterways. Surprised by how much we enjoyed our visit we’d actually say everyone should go there once, if only to eradicate the stereotype that’s so widely associated with it.
