Boomrock Kauri Bay.

Jonie and Laura’s incredible wedding at Boomrock Kauri Bay was the first of many for us. The first wedding we shot in Auckland, the first same-sex wedding…even the first time at Boomrock Kauri Bay! All of this added to the excitement. These guys gave us a good couple of hours for portraits before the wedding ceremony – something you always crave as a photographer!

The day started with these lovely ladies getting ready together, in their home in Auckland. Laura’s dress was like déjà vu – she saw it on our Instagram, on a bride we photographed last year. Needless to say, we LOVED capturing this dress for a second time.

Boomrock Kauri Bay is one of those venues that you just don’t know where to start photographing – everywhere you turn is a breath taking view. Vast rolling hills wrap the whole way around the venue, only broken by a beach and the sea directly opposite the lawn.

With cloud all day, we were so lucky to get 15minutes of dramatic red sunset at the end of the day. Jonie and Laura – it was such a pleasure photographing your awesome wedding! #samemoon
