Honeymooning in Norway was like waking up in the morning and realising it’s snowed. The only difference is, you get that feeling every thirty seconds. We instantly fell in love with the dramatic landscapes; glacier-hewn valleys where snow-melted waterfalls carve out silvery veins in the rockface; gently lapping blue fjords flanked by hills like sleeping green giants peppered with sheep, and cheerful traditional farms sketched out precisely in neat squares of yellow corn and green fields.

In our two week trip we managed to visit Oslo, Bergen (twice!), Gudvangen, Aurland, Elveseter, Lom and Lustre. We walked on a Glacier, kayaked through the fjords, took a rib boat tour through the Nærøyfjord, hiked up mountains and drove the highest mountain pass in Northern Europe on the notorious and beautiful ‘Snow Road’, passing Hytte buried to the windows in fresh, powdery snowfall. We drove over a thousand miles and can’t wait to go back and drive more, IF we can stop ourselves stopping to take photographs every ten metres….
